Ten Hag admits Manchester United are close to Marcus Rashford deal

Manchester United are set to close in on an agreement with Marcus Rashford, with Erik ten Hag giving the new deal his full approval.

It remains to be seen how United will approach the summer transfer window with the sale of the club becoming a tiresome drama. However, The Athletic claim that as things stand Ten Hag should have £100 million to spend.

That means United need to sell players.

At the same time, we need to renew some deals for certain players.

Marcus Rashford is in talks over a new deal at the club after becoming the first striker since Robin van Persie to score 30 goals for United in one season.

United activated a one-year extension in his deal back in December – so his current deal expires in the summer of 2024.

None of us want to think about losing Rashford and it sounds like Ten Hag is convinced he wants to remain at his boyhood club.

Speaking to Viaplay, Ten Hag reveals he expects Rashford to commit his future to the club.

“I expect Marcus Rashford to renew,” he told Viaplay (H/t 90min).

“He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a child of this club, so I assume this will happen.”

Ten Hag sounds confident about Rashford putting pen to paper to stay at the club, so we should be too!
