(Video) Ten Hag outlines the standard at United with winning trophies the priority

Erik ten Hag has high standards for his Manchester United side.

The Red Devils are one point away from booking their place in next season’s Champions League, which they can secure tomorrow evening in their penultimate Premier League fixture against Chelsea.

United have already picked up one trophy this season in the form of the Carabao Cup and can add another if they reign victorious in the FA Cup final on June 3rd against Manchester City, and it’s certainly trophies that Erik ten Hag has his sights set on.

When questioned about his side’s progress throughout the season, he said: “First, we have to win the game tomorrow and get the job done. Then it is about the judgement from others. If it’s a good performance or a bad performance or a poor performance, we are in a project and we want to go back and win trophies, [we have] won one trophy and we want to win more trophies and we want to compete with the best. We are still in a journey, but we think we are in the right direction. We can always be better because good is not good enough.”

  1. He really did well in his first season, good manager if well backed in second campaign.
