Manchester United interested in record-breaking Arsenal starlet

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri ahead of the summer transfer window.

Those claims come from The Athletic and it sounds like the Arsenal starlet has a decision to make when his schoolboy registration expires in June.

Nwaneri, who became the youngest player (15 years and 181 days) to play in the Premier League earlier this season, is also attracting interest from Man City and Chelsea.

It is suggested that Arsenal are desperate to keep the 16-year-old at the club.

David Ornstein reports: “Arsenal have not given up hope of convincing him to accept their offer and new dialogue has recently taken place, although all parties are awaiting a decision.”

Despite making his senior debut in September, Nwaneri has yet to make another appearance under Mikel Arteta. He will have to ask himself if he’s got a better chance of getting game time elsewhere.

It also suggests the youngster is not quite ready for Premier League football, but it’s encouraging to hear that we’re trying to sign the brightest prospects from other academies in England.
