Nottingham Forest plan to pursue Dean Henderson on permanent deal

Nottingham Forest are planning to pursue a permanent deal for Dean Henderson at the end of the season.

Dean Henderson, who starred in Sheffield United’s 2019 promotion-winning season, is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.

With a new contract in the pipeline for David de Gea, there are question marks over whether Henderson has a future at the club.

According to the Telegraph, Forest will pursue a permanent deal for Henderson, but the situation will be determined by whether he is given assurances over game time at Old Trafford.

Henderson has started 20 games across all competitions for Forest, keeping five clean sheets, but he has been missing since January with an injury.

It is understood that Forest are now in a position to sign Henderson on a permanent deal after securing their place in the Premier League for next season.

While it looks like De Gea will get a new deal at United, I wouldn’t be surprised if Erik ten Hag looked for another top goalkeeper, who has better distribution along with a willingness to come off his line.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Henderson.
