Manchester United could announce more pre-season friendlies, including trip to Dublin

As far as Manchester United’s pre-season schedule, we already know about four matches in America and one in Scotland.

Manchester United will take on Arsenal in New York on July 22, Real Madrid in Houston on July 26 and Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas on July 30.

Furthermore, an academy side will take on Wrexham on July 25 – a day before the Real Madrid clash.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United are in the process of finalising three more pre-season matches.

The club are in discussions to face Leeds in Oslo before they take on Lyon in Edinburgh. They will then set off for the a tour in the United States but could play two more matches in Dublin and England.

Samuel Luckhurst reports: “United manager Erik ten Hag wants to arrange two friendlies for the weekend before United’s first game of the season on August 5 and 6.

“It is understood the club have identified Dublin as the location for one game and the other match will either be in the Community Shield or an Old Trafford friendly.”

As an Irish Red, it’s always great to see the team travel to play across the pond. The Reds haven’t been to Dublin since 2017 when they beat Sampdoria in another pre-season friendly.

And, no matter what size the venue is, it would be a sell out – just like last time out at the Aviva.
