It would be safe to say Roy Keane doesn’t think Manchester United should sign Jordan Pickford.
A few days ago, the Daily Mail reported that Manchester United were targeting a move for the England No 1 at the end of the season.
David de Gea may be set to sign a new contract at the club, but there’s a strong likelihood that United will sign a new goalkeeper to challenge the Spaniard for the first choice role.
Pickford is one of the many names doing the rounds as a potential target, while others include David Raya, Diogo Costa and Bart Verbruggen.
However, Keane has argued that Pickford is not a top keeper. He criticised the Everton shot stopper after Everton’s defeat to Man City on Sunday.
“Pickford, for the goal [Gundogan free-kick]… my goodness,” Keane said on Sky Sports. “He looks so small in there. There’s no spring, he’s not anticipating. Micah said before the game he’s a top goalkeeper. He’s not.”

Consistency is key at this level – and Pickford may argue that he’s had to play in a relegation battling side for the past two years.
I think United could aim higher in the keeper department – but that depends on how much money Ten Hag has to spend this summer.
Hopefully our scouting network have done their homework.
