Erik ten Hag believes the Old Trafford faithful have played a pivotal role in Manchester United’s home form this season.

The Red Devils return to their home comforts this afternoon in a Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers after back-to-back defeats on the road.

Away form is something that the manager will certainly be looking to improve over the summer, as it’s been an ongoing issue throughout the campaign and has loosened United’s grip on the top four.

However, United have four fixtures remaining, three of which are on home turf where they’re unbeaten in the league since the opening day of the 2022/2023 season.

Ten Hag knows the fans will be roaring his squad on as they look to book their place with the rest of Europe’s elite for next term.

Ten Hag lauds faithful supporters

Ahead of this afternoon’s outing against Wolves, match-going fans will be spirited by the manager’s words in this week’s United Review.

“Being at Old Trafford will be a huge advantage…because we have seen repeatedly this season just how big a difference our fantastic home support can make.

“Our form here has been excellent and a major part of that success has been the contribution of the fans. Working together, we can take a big step forward this afternoon.”

He also touched on the topic in his pre-match press conference, adding (via the Man Utd website): “We believe in the way we work. The way we play and then the togetherness with the fans, so I think we have a strong bond.

“There is a real good ambience at Old Trafford and I think it is difficult for opponents to arrive here and to face us.”
