Manchester United target signs new five-year contract with AC Milan

Rafael Leao, who was previously linked with a transfer to Manchester United, has signed a new deal with AC Milan.

According to MEN via Pianeta Milan, the Red Devils were among the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in pursuit of Leao.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed another fine campaign with Milan, almost a year on from being crowned a Serie A champion, as well as the league’s Most Valuable Player and Footballer of the Year.

This season, he has the chance to add the lucrative Champions League trophy to his honours list; his side takes on rivals Inter Milan in tonight’s highly-anticipated semi-final clash.

Leao pens extended deal in Italy

However, the Italian club have been able to tie down Leao to a new contract, which was likely to ward off interest from other European giants.

As per The Athletic, the Portugal attacker has penned a five-year deal, keeping him at the San Siro until June 2028, so all interested parties will have to put their interest on the back burner for the time being!
