Gary Pallister warns Manchester United that potential Harry Kane deal is at risk

Every man and his dog knows Manchester United need to sign a striker in the summer.

It’s been an issue all season — from when Cristiano Ronaldo threw his toys out of the pram to Anthony Martial’s lack of availability and Wout Weghorst’s arrival on loan in January — with United scoring significantly less than their rivals in the race for top four.

Last night United suffered a second consecutive defeat on the road and it means we need 3 wins from our last 4 league matches.

With Liverpool putting a run together, there’s little room for error and it’s hard to see where we will get the goals/wins from…

Harry Kane is one of the players linked with a move to United that would fix our problem up front, as per The Times, but it remains to be seen if United can get passed tricky negotiator Daniel Levy.

But there is a risk United could blow their chances of signing Kane this summer, by missing out on a place in the top four.

This concerned was aired last night by former United defender Gary Pallister.

Pally told MUTV (H/t United In Focus): “If Harry Kane does want to go in the summer I’m sure he wants to go play Champions League football. Does it affect that deal. If we are not in it, do players want to come here. We need to be in Champions League football to attract the big players.”

The former centre-back added that he is keeping the faith when it comes to United’s end to the season.

He added: “I’m still comfortable with the games we’ve got, three at home, against teams that are beatable.”

Next up for United is Wolves at home. Every fixture will feel like a cup final at this rate.
