Garnacho on the bench, Weghorst starts: confirmed Man United line-up vs West Ham

Manchester United are looking to get back to winning ways and take a huge step towards qualifying for next season’s Champions League this evening as they make the trip to face West Ham United.

United need nine points from their remaining five league games and three points on Sunday would put Erik ten Hag’s men in the perfect position to reach one of their targets with a few games to spare.

Last week’s 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur put an end to a three-game winning run in the Premier League and the late 1-0 defeat to Brighton meant that the Reds dropped down to fourth place.

With the chasing pack picking up form, which includes Liverpool, United cannot afford to go a third straight game without winning.

Ten Hag has made a couple of changes from the game on the south coast, with midfield maestro Christian Eriksen returning to the side and replacing Fred.

Anthony Martial drops to the bench for this game, with forgotten man Wout Weghorst returning to the side after an extended period on the bench.

Further back, Luke Shaw continues to be picked at centre-back alongside Victor Lindelof and the pair are flanked by Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia.

Quite surprisingly, Alejandro Garnacho has been included in the matchday squad and he could make his long-awaited return to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

United’s breakout star of the season sustained a serious ankle injury earlier this calendar year, which kept him from making his senior Argentina debut in March.
