De Gea 1, Weghorst 2: player ratings from West Ham 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United failed to capitalise on Newcastle United’s loss to Arsenal earlier this weekend as Erik ten Hag’s men fell to yet another away defeat this season.

United are now winless in three of the last four Premier League games. The result means that Liverpool are just one point behind the Reds with four games to go.

Ten Hag made a couple of changes from the defeat to Brighton earlier this week but United produced a similar performance, with Said Benrahma’s first-half goal providing the springboard for all three points for the hosts.

David de Gea – 1
Made a couple of saves but once again, he was at fault for a goal at a crucial stage of a game and most importantly, the season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 3
One 11th of a very poor side.

Victor Lindelof – 3
Quite the comedown from his recent form.

Luke Shaw – 4
Couldn’t do much to alter proceedings at the London Stadium.

Tyrell Malacia – 3
A tough afternoon for the Dutchman.

Casemiro – 3
Masterful performance against Aston Villa last week but that was the odd one out after a string of questionable outings.

Christian Eriksen – 3
Just the like the rest of the team, he looks knackered and it’s easy to understand why.

Bruno Fernandes – 3
His desperate shots from 30 metres sum it all up.

Antony – 3
Did fine whenever he was isolated against one defender but as soon as West Ham doubled up on him, he didn’t stand a chance.

Wout Weghorst – 2
Possibly his last start for the club.

Marcus Rashford – 3
Chasing his 30th goal of the season but at this rate, it’s not coming anytime soon.
