Bruno Fernandes wins Manchester United POTM award for April

Bruno Fernandes has won Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for April.

The midfielder, who was also voted POTM in March, earned the accolade despite being asked to play a number of different roles in the team over the course of April.

Fernandes was a star performer in last week’s 1-0 victory of Aston Villa and scored the game’s only goal. He also shrugged off an injury in the FA Cup semi-final, only to appear four days later in a 2-2 draw at Tottenham.

Fans got to vote for their Player of the Month and Fernandes picked up 49% on the three-man poll via ManUtd.com. The other two candidates included Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof.

The Portugal international will look to carry on his impressive form when United travel to West Ham on Sunday.

With two Player of the Month awards this season, Fernandes is one behind leader Marcus Rashford, who is among the favourites for United’s Player of the Year award.

Fernandes has already won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award twice – in 2019/20 and 2020/21.

Long may his good form continue!
