(Video) Ten Hag hints at Brighton’s dark arts with constant tactical fouls going unpunished

Erik ten Hag was left furious with Brighton and Hove Albion’s ongoing tactical fouls that were left unpunished by the referee.

Frustration is the general feeling among the United squad, staff and fans this evening after an injury-time penalty saw the Reds leave with no points from a tightly contested away clash.

Tensions were high throughout the game due to the refereeing decisions and eventually reached boiling point when Antony fouled Alexis Mac Allister moments after a foul on the Brazilian went unchallenged by Andre Marriner.

Several incidents should’ve saw players carded or even just free-kicks given, but Marriner seemed apprehensive to pause play.

In the closing stages of the game, the Seagulls were awarded a free-kick that then led to a corner, where Luke Shaw put his hand to the ball and consequently gave away the spot-kick that Mac Allister converted.

Ten Hag left frustrated with officiating

Post-match, Ten Hag voiced his annoyance at the officiating throughout the match, saying (via Hayters TV): “Every attack you make with perspective, they kick you. Then there is a block, which is a fair block, and from that block, there’s a free-kick, then it’s a corner, then of course… disappointed. Handball in the dying seconds and you can’t react anymore.”

  1. Oh dear. Casemeiro and Anthony lucky not to get second yellows. Sounds very like a poor loser

    1. How can you call a man with multiple European Cups a loser? FFS, some of the stuff I’ve been reading beggars belief.
