The three Manchester United players in talks to extend their contracts this season

Manchester United are ‘hopeful’ of announcing more contract renewals before the end of the season.

That’s according to Manchester Evening News, which confirms the club’s hierarchy and Erik ten Hag are currently in talks with Marcus Rashford, David de Gea and Diogo Dalot regarding extended deals at Old Trafford.

Last week, it was confirmed that academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho had committed his future to the Red Devils after he put pen to paper on a five-year extension, keeping him in M16 until June 2028. Earlier in April, Luke Shaw also signed a four-year deal until 2027.

The report suggests that Rashford’s contract terms may take added time to finalise. Ten Hag, as well as United fans, will be keen for the 25-year-old to agree a new deal, as his form this campaign has been nothing short of exceptional.

With 29 goals and 11 assists to his name, the Englishman is well in the running to be named our Player of the Season.

De Gea must reduce wages to stay at United

De Gea, who is currently the highest-paid goalkeeper in world football, is in discussions to reduce his £375,000 per week wages, with the board seemingly wanting to tackle the club’s jaw-dropping wage list.

The Spaniard reportedly rejected the initial proposal tabled by United, but it’s expected that terms will be agreed by his contract expiry on June 30.
