Erik ten Hag explains polite gesture with green and gold scarf

Erik ten Hag was seen picking up and waving a green and gold scarf at Old Trafford on Sunday, after an anti-Glazer protest was held by fans marching from the city centre to the Munich tunnel.

A fan in the Stretford End threw his green and gold scarf towards the Manchester United manager at full-time. The video went viral on social media later than evening.

Some might question whether Ten Hag is aware of the connections of the scarf, but I think it is incredibly naive to think all of the anti-Glazer protests have gone over his head this season.

Of course he knows what the #GlazersOut movement is about.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Brighton, Ten Hag explained why he picked up the scarf.

“It was just police,” Ten Hag said, as quoted by ManUtd.com. “But I know what is going around and what the symbol of it is, but this matter was just police.”

Everyone – including Ten Hag – wants the Glazers Out.
