Two away trips: What another week of the run-in holds for Manchester United

Two Premier League fixtures await Manchester United this week, both of which are away from home.

The Red Devils’ form on the road has often faltered this season and it’s undoubtedly going to be a concern for Erik ten Hag heading into the forthcoming matches.

Losses such as the 7-0 to Liverpool, 6-3 to Manchester City and 4-0 to Brentford all happened away from home, as well as several other substandard performances.

However, progress is not linear and the team are certainly capable of seeing out wins when needed, hence why they find themselves firmly cemented in the top four, so six points are the expectation over the coming days.

United’s schedule for the week ahead

First up is a meeting with the in-form Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex, who are on the back of a 6-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The reverse match ended 2-1 on the opening day of the 2022/2023 campaign at Old Trafford, so vengeance is needed on the South Coast this Thursday, May 4.

Kick-off is at 8pm and the clash will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

Sunday, May 7 holds another trip down South to take on West Ham United. The Irons currently sit 15th-placed and have been nearing the drop for a number of weeks now, making every point absolutely crucial for them in their fight for survival.

Their visit to M16 came back in October; Marcus Rashford netted the only goal of the game, the 100th of his career, to see out the victory for the Reds.

Kick-off is at 7pm and it’ll be shown on BT Sport.
