Manchester United are reportedly “pushing” for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.
That’s according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, who confirmed that the Red Devils are making the most efforts to sign Muani, with Bayern Munich also very much in the race.
❗️News Kolo Muani: Understand #MUFC is the club who is pushing the most at this stage! More than #FCBayern! Player has not taken any decision yet. No verbal agreement with any club. His management is sounding out the market. It’s up to Bayern now in order to make the next step… pic.twitter.com/0ARuunBAkl

His management is currently “sounding out the market” amid interest from the top European clubs.
The 24-year-old has had an outstanding campaign thus far, scoring 20 goals and contributing 14 assists in all competitions. He also impressed at the World Cup last year when he netted a crucial goal in the semi-finals and assisted in the final against Argentina, so he’s certainly proved himself to Didier Deschamps.
Ten Hag must acquire a striker this summer
United are in dire need of a prolific striker next season; Erik ten Hag is currently depending on Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst, the latter of which will return to his parent club in June having made little impact during his loan spell.
Martial’s ongoing fitness and injury concerns have undoubtedly been a frustration for Ten Hag this term – he has missed more games than he’s been available for, which is simply unacceptable for a first-choice striker at a club of United’s level.
Speculation suggests Harry Kane could be the priority target when the window opens, however, Muani may prove to be a younger and significantly cheaper option.
