Manchester United linked with PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi

Paris Saint-Germain's Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi (L) leaves the pitch next to Paris Saint-Germain's French head coach Christophe Galtier (C) after receiving a second yellow card resulting in his being sent off during the French L1 football match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and FC Lorient at The Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris on April 30, 2023. Manchester United are in the market for a new right-back and Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi is on the target list.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are prepared to agree the asking price to sign the Morocco international from PSG.

The African star is one of the best attacking right-backs in the world, and it goes without saying that he would be a significant upgrade on Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Chelsea are also linked with the former Inter Milan star, but they won’t be able to offer him Champions League football next season. That puts United ahead in the race for Hakimi’s signature.

The report claims United are willing to meet the asking price of £50-60 million to hire the services of the highly-rated full-back.

With acquisitions hanging over Hakimi’s head and a £215,000-per-week contract in Paris, I think we should forget about this one.
