Jurgen Klopp hangs on to win over United as Liverpool’s season highlight

It has been a wretched season for Liverpool and we hope it ends that way for them too. None of us want to see them in the top four and I’ve always been a believer that the further they fall the better!

However, Liverpool have won their last three Premier League games – unbeaten in five – and they are putting a late toe in the race for top four.

The Scousers have six games remaining this season and are out of all cup competitions. Their next fixture is on Sunday at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

With that, we are quickly coming to the conclusion that Liverpool will be ending the season without a trophy. Jurgen Klopp has been scraping at the barrel to look for positives following another season of shortcomings.

Klopp dropped another reminder of Liverpool’s 7-0 victory at Anfield back in March.

“I always thought I would have time for these things after my career,” Klopp told a press conference on Friday, as quoted by The Mirror.

“So this season, if we don’t do something really special, will be remembered for the 7-0 against United. I hope when people speak about it in a few years they will look back on it and [say], ‘that is the year we beat United 7-0’ and that they could say something nice on top of that. And after that we qualified still for whatever. That will be nice, but if not then we have to take that as well.”

Rather small-time from Klopp, but we shouldn’t be surprised.

Remember when he was telling Liverpool fans to book hotels for Champions League finals they never went on to reach?
