Manchester United recieve injury boost after Anthony Martial scare

Manchester United appear to have been handed an injury boost ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Brentford.

When Anthony Martial went off injured against Sevilla on Thursday night, you could hear the moans in the away end about the likelihood of another knocking ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

It was too soon for Erik ten Hag to give an update on Martial’s injury after the match, but the Reds appear to have been handed an injury boost after Martial was seen with the squad ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash against Brentford.

United take on Brighton in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday, with a place in the final up for grabs. It looked like United would be without Martial for the game after he limped off in Seville on Thursday night.

Martial started up front but was non-existent throughout the first-half. I only noticed him when he went down trying to defend a corner, which is rather telling when you consider we are talking about United’s answer to a striker.

It looks like the 27-year-old could be part of the squad after he was spotted walking with United players and staff in London on Saturday morning.

A fan (@tobymerrison) recorded the footage on their phone before it did the rounds across social media. Martial is spotted with the group and wearing a full club training tracksuit.

Nobody can deny that Martial could be an important player for United, but the Frenchman is unable to stay fit for a long enough period to have his desired impact on the team.

Martial has scored seven goals and registered three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this term. The question is whether he can last between now and the end of the season without getting injured.

I’m not convinced we can rely on Martial though. Not anymore.
