Referee confirmed for Sevilla vs Manchester United

As with any big night in European football, the referee could have a big part to play when Manchester United visit Sevilla for the second leg of our Europa League quarter-final tie. All eyes on the man in the middle.

The officials in the first leg all had a direct impact on this return leg whatever way you look at it. From Bruno Fernandes’ yellow card for an innocuous handball decision means the playmaker will play no part in Thursday’s away trip.

After finishing 2-2 at Old Trafford, there’s a lot of work to do in Seville if United are to make the semi-finals of the competition. That will also be the aim of Sevilla, who have been a lot better than us in this competition down the years.

However, the referee for United’s second leg against Sevilla will be Arthur Dias, who has officiated three of our games in the past so he’s no stranger.

The last game is a really good omen – Europa League quarter-final against Granada in 2021 — so we’ll focus on that.

United won the game 2-0 in Spain and he booked five United players.
