Manchester United and Liverpool are believed to be the two sides working the hardest to persuade Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

That report comes from Cesar Luis Merlo from TyC Sports, who adds that the World Cup winner is almost certain to leave Brighton in the summer.

A lot will depend on whether a club can agree a valuation with Brighton and we don’t think that will be cheap.

It is also suggested that Arsenal are monitoring Mac Allister. In truth, I’m sure every big club is taking a look at players that have impressed in the Premier League this season and there’s a few gems emerging at Brighton like Republic of Ireland international Evan Ferguson.

After winning the World Cup at the end of 2022, what better way to mark 2023 than joining the biggest club in the world?

It remains to be seen how serious Erik ten Hag is about signing Mac Allister, but he is an addition we’d welcome with open arms.

Premier League proven, full of energy and not lacking in the technical department.
