Sheikh Jassim remains confident of Manchester United takeover

It has been a while since we’ve had any updates from Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani remains confident that his attempts to buy Manchester United will be successful.

That comes from The Guardian after reports that the Carlyle Group, a US investment firm, wants a minority stake which could see the Glazers stay.

It is believed that the Glazers have told The Raine Group, acting as their financial advisors, to examine the offer.

The Guardian also name another US fund, Ares Management, as having similar interest.

That would be the worst case scenario for United because this must mean the end of the Glazers. Nothing else.

It is also noted that Sheikh Jassim, the Qatari banker who wants to acquire all of United via his Nine Two Foundation, believes his offer will be accepted.

A lot depends on whether all Glazers can agree on a sale. There’s six siblings to consider.

Meanwhile, the protests via The 1958 must continue as they will.
