Erik ten Hag dealt further injury blow with midfielder ruled out of Europa League clash

Scott McTominay has been ruled out of tonight’s Europa League quarter-final tie between Manchester United and Sevilla.

The Scot will join Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw on the sidelines, with both players also confirmed to be missing the first leg of the quarter-final, as reported by Simon Stone.

McTominay was unlikely to start given Casemiro’s availability, however, it’s still an inconvenience in case Erik ten Hag wants to rest any of the midfield he deploys. He is a quality option off the bench and has been prolific in his last few appearances for club and country, so he may have even provided a goal.

Other injuries

Alejandro Garnacho and Donny van de Beek are more long-term absentees; we won’t see Van de Beek until next season at least – that’s if he stays at Old Trafford over the summer, though hopefully Garnacho is able to return before the end of the season and finish off his breakthrough campaign in style.
