Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed Luke Shaw will miss the first leg against Sevilla in the Europa League.
The club confirmed that Marcus Rashford would miss the game in a statement that was released before Erik ten Hag spoke to the press.
As a result, Rashford will miss ‘a few games’, but Ten Hag refused to add whether the forward would return in time for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton.
Ten Hag also confirmed that Shaw and Alejandro Garancho will miss the game.
“No, both not available,” Ten Hag said, as per Manchester Evening News.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag suggested that he expects Shaw to return soon.
“Luke Shaw I expect him back at short notice,” he added.
We fully expect Tyrell Malacia to start at left-back instead of Shaw tomorrow night. The Dutch full-back has played 32 games for United so far this season.
On another note, Ten Hag won’t want his team to underestimate their opponents in the Europa League, despite their poor form domestically this term.
