Manchester United could move on as many as 13 players this summer.

It sounds like Erik ten Hag is planning a major squad overhaul ahead of his second season as manager at Manchester United.

According to the Daily Mail, United will attempt to try and move on as many as 13 players this summer in a bid to improve Ten Hag’s squad.

It is understood that United are walking a tightrope with Financial Fair Play (FFP) and a big decision has yet to come on the future of the club, with the Glazers considering bids to sell the club.

United fans will trust Ten Hag with whatever decisions he makes because he’s done a terrific job in his first season. On top of that, all of his signings have had a positive impact on the team, therefore he should be trusted.

A lot will depend on the ownership situation because Ten Hag will struggle to compete with the big spenders for however long they remain in charge.

The report claims Anthony Elanga has over 12 clubs keen to sign him, while Eric Bailly is unlikely to sign a permanent deal at Marseille despite already knowing he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Moreover, there are questions marks over the futures of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Donny van de Beek, Brandon Williams and Anthony Martial.

Moving 13 players on would make a huge squad overhaul. I don’t think we’ll see anything as drastic, though.

Only time will tell.
