Manchester United are reportedly interested in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.
It would seemingly be one or the other if Ten Hag opts to pursue the midfielders, as Brighton would be unwilling to oversee the departures of two of their most pivotal players.
According to The Telegraph, the Dutch manager has outlined the pair along with West Ham United’s Declan Rice, who could be obtained for a discounted fee if the Irons drop to the Championship after their fight for survival.
The report suggests that United are looking to bolster their options in midfield to take the strain off of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, with Scott McTominay rumoured to be leaving Old Trafford in the summer.
United will face competition for midfielders
Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in Caicedo over the January transfer window and the Gunners saw two bids of over £60 million rejected by the Seagulls, so both clubs may reignite their pursuit at the end of the season.
Mac Allister’s asking price will have likely increased due to the crucial role he played in Argentina’s World Cup campaign last year, in which they were crowned world champions. The 24-year-old started six matches across the tournament, contributing one goal and an assist along the way. Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the race for the Argentinian.
