Manchester United will welcome Thomas Frank’s Brentford to Old Trafford on Wednesday night for an important Premier League match.
Both sides are pushing for a European qualification spot with United recently dropping outside of the league’s top four following a damaging 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United last weekend.
Brentford, though, are in dreamland. Despite only being promoted to England’s big time two seasons ago, the Bees have undoubtedly been one of the country’s most impressive outfits.
Although the team from London currently sit ninth in the table, having one game-in-hand over seventh-placed Aston Villa means that a win over Man United tonight would see them leapfrog the Villians, as well as Jurgen Klopp’s eighth-placed Liverpool.
Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils, on the other hand, are desperate to bounce back after last weekend’s abysmal performance against Eddie Howe’s Magpies, and according to recent reports, one player who could return to boost the Dutchman’s chances of taking all three points is striker Anthony Martial.
That’s according to MEN, who believe the French forward could be in line to make his first competitive start since the second week of January.
Should Martial miss out on a starting spot for tonight’s game, it is likely Ten Hag will once again turn to on-loan forward Wout Weghorst, who has failed to excite fans since his short-term loan move from Championship side Burnley earlier this year.
