Manchester United are set to welcome Brentford to Old Trafford for Wednesday night’s latest round of Premier League fixtures.

Looking to bounce back following an awful performance against Newcastle United last weekend which saw his side suffer a damaging 2-0 defeat, Erik Ten Hag will know anything less than all three points tonight will not be good enough.

Having slipped outside of the league’s top four for the first time in months, all the pressure will be on the home side to come away victorious.

And speaking about tonight’s game, as well as how poor the performance was last time out against Eddie Howe’s impressive Magpies, Ten Hag admitted the team’s standard of play must be raised.

“We have already given the message [for Brentford] – every gameday you have to match the standards and Sunday we were below our standards and our expectations,” the Dutchman said, as quoted by MEN.

“We got beaten and that was justified and deserved because we didn’t play our best game.”

Tonight’s league game is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. (BST) but the match will not be broadcast live in the UK.
