Marcel Sabitzer likely to leave Bayern Munich despite manager change

The recent international break saw a big change at Bayern Munich as they decided to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann.

Even though Bayern Munich are still fighting on all fronts this season, and it could make for a successful campaign, Nagelsmann was sacked due to inconsistent performances in the Bundesliga.

As things stand, Bayern sit in second place just one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Former BVB, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already stepped in to replace Nagelsmann.

This decision generally impacts the future of several players in the squad. Tuchel could prefer to give a clean slate to everyone before making transfer decisions, too.

One player who it looks like has had his fate decided is Marcel Sabitzer, on loan at Manchester United.

According to Sport1’s Kerry Hau (via iMiaSanMia), Sabitzer is still expected to leave Bayern in the summer transfer window.

It is believed that Sabitzer is enjoying himself at United and may end up staying behind his loan deal. Bayern’s asking price will be intriguing in the summer. A fee of €15-20m could be enough to prize him away, as per Sport 1 (H/t FCB Inside).

Sabitzer joined the German giants in 2021 from RB Leipzig but the move did not go to plan. He struggled to get regular game time with the Bavarian giants, but Erik ten Hag has found a place for him at United when he’s fully fit.
