Manchester United remain split over Mason Greenwood internal investigation

Mason Greenwood will not be returning to Manchester United training anytime soon.

The 21-year-old has been suspended by the club since January 2022 when he was first accused of attempted rape and assault.

Greenwood was arrested and charged at the time.

While those charges have since been dropped, Greenwood remains part of an internal investigation taking place at Manchester United.

The Daily Mail claims the investigation will not be completed before the summer, while the club declined to comment on the story.

It also suggests that there is a split across the club with staff arguing he deserves a second chances, but those in the commercial field are wary of the potential damage it could cause the club.

We had a feeling this one would drag on until the end of the season.

Erik ten Hag and his team will focus on results while the investigation goes on in the background.
