Manchester United face the possibility of being taken over by uber-wealthy Qatari Sheikh Jassim.

Although the Glazer family are believed to have a handful of offers on the table, including one from Britain’s richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, it is widely expected that if the American billionaire family depart, it’ll be Jassim who takes charge.

And now, according to the Daily Record’s Duncan Castles, Jassim, whose family’s net worth is believed to be worth around £275 billion (MEN), has an exciting plan for the Red Devils.

Reporting on the potential sale of Manchester United recently, Castles said that Jassim, if successful in his bid to buy the club, would like to make the Premier League giants the latest club in what is becoming the sport’s largest multi-club network.

The Qatar Sports Investments group, who own Ligue 1 side PSG, recently purchased a minority stake in Sporting Braga and the plan is for the Portuguese club to act as a development club for both PSG and Manchester United.

Castles added: “Elite talents would be signed from European and South American football then moved to Portugal to gain experience in Braga’s first team before being transferred up the multi-club system to the Premier League or Ligue 1.”
