Manchester United book place in Europa League quarter-finals

Manchester United have advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Red Devils saw out a 1-0 win tonight at the Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville, rounding off a 5-1 aggregate win against Real Betis across both legs.

Just one goal from Marcus Rashford, his 27th of the season, was enough to secure their progression to the last-eight of the competition this evening after a tightly contested first-half.

Their opponents in the next stage will be confirmed tomorrow and Erik ten Hag’s side will undoubtedly be one of the major favourites to lift the trophy in Budapest this year.

Next up for United

United also face an FA Cup quarter-final this Sunday against fellow Premier League rivals Fulham, who have been in fine form in their return to the top flight.

Having already won the Carabao Cup, supporters will be delighting at the prospect of more silverware on the horizon in Ten Hag’s first season.
