Investors given 10-day deadline to submit improved bid for Manchester United

The groups involved in a potential takeover of Manchester United have been told they have 10 days to submit improved offers.

According to the Daily Mail, groups will be invited to make their second offers to the Glazer’s financial advisors The Raine Group, who are handling the process on behalf of the Glazer family.

The first round of bids was widely covered but only two bids were made public, with Sheikh Jassim and his Qatari consortium seemingly battling it out with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS bid.

Sheikh Jassim’s representatives are believed to be in Manchester this week for talks, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe will meet in person at Old Trafford on Friday, as per The Telegraph.

Once the improved offers are in, it is understood that Raine Group will then consult the Glazers before deciding upon a preferred bidder.

Hopefully this is the end of the Glazers – one way or other. It’s been a long battle (17-years) with the American family, but surely they know their time is up in Manchester – not that they spent much time in the city…

Let us know in the comments section if you think Sir Jim Ratcliffe will have the funding to compete with Sheikh Jassim of Qatar.
