Manchester United leading the way for most wins in Europe’s top 5 leagues

Sky Sports shared a statistic this morning that I thought was interesting. Manchester United are currently leading the way for most wins this season by teams in Europe’s top five leagues, which is another clear sign of progress.

An impressive feat at this stage of this season, but not something to get carried away with as we all know Erik ten Hag has a lot of work to do to get United back fighting for Premier League titles and competing in the Champions League.

If the process under Ten Hag continues like it has done for the past seven months, I fully expect us to be competing for the league title next season, granted we have another good transfer window and strengthen areas that need to improve if we are to reach that next level.

Manchester United have the most wins (31) this season by teams in Europe’s top five leagues. The graphic below, courtesy of Sky Sports, doesn’t show the amount of games each team has played to rack up a high percentage of wins – but we’ve played 50 and Barcelona have played far less.

I think it shows that we’ve gained a bit of consistency in a very difficult season. Since the World Cup ended, we’ve managed two games per week, and that is bound to catch up with the players at some point. I hope we can maintain that by getting back to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend because the race for top four is far from over.

Bald is best.
