David de Gea is the first Manchester United player to address today’s catastrophic loss via social media.
Seven goals conceded without returning even one in response and the worst defeat on record by our biggest rivals in history. Talk about a day to forget.
Unfortunately, it’s one that will follow us for a long, long time, and that’s just how football is. If it was the other way round, we’d be basking in it, gloating and feeling euphoric, instead, we’ve got the complete opposite end of the stick.
These players and Erik ten Hag have given fans a lot of incredible days this season and some very painful ones. To go from lifting a cup at Wembley to a 7-0 loss in the space of a week is quite literally a reflection of the highs and lows of the game.
De Gea took to Twitter to speak out to United fans after one of his poorest showings in between the sticks.
De Gea on Liverpool defeat
The Spaniard said: “I know these message don’t sit well on such a day.
This was a disastrous moment for us and these results shouldn’t happen, especially with the journey we are all on. We have a duty to this club, a responsibility to represent the badge but we have many opportunities to look ahead, many games coming fast and we have to lock our focus on these.”
Thanks de gea for up warming comforting message, even though its normal to loose in football, but yesterday’s game was indeed humiliating as a united fan.and this guilty won’t be easily showered off
But thanks for your hard work
