Erik ten Hag has players returning to the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho are expected to be available for the trip to Anfield. The left-back missed Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth round win over West Ham with a knock, while Sancho sat out the 3-1 comeback due to illness.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match, Ten Hag gave a strong impression that he expects both players to be available at Anfield.

“I think we will have players back but I am not sure,” Ten Hag said, as per The Metro.

“Luke Shaw was not available, so we expect him back. Sancho, yeah he was will but you haver to wait how that develops, but yeah I think as well.”

The Reds go into the game 10 points clear of their rivals and it’s a chance to deal a blow to their Champions League hopes. An opportunity to beat our rivals away from home because we’re in much better form of late.

Liverpool’s form has picked up in recent weeks, though. They’ve won three of their last four league games having not conceded a goal in that run. Real Madrid still destroyed them in the Champions League which should bode well for us, considering we’ve already beaten the best team in Spain this season.

It’s always a boost to have players returning to the squad. Ten Hag will have more options at the very least.
