Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Marcus Rashford ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Anfield this Sunday, March 5.
Rashford is currently enjoying the best season of his career so far; the forward has contributed 25 goals and nine assists, with the most recent being the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.
His efforts have been instrumental in United’s resurgence this term and without his goals, the picture could look vastly different. The Reds sit in third place and could go on to lift more silverware as the season progresses.
Rashford has also already scored against Liverpool back in August, a game that ended 2-1 in United’s favour and has since been outlined as the turning point in the club’s season.
The 25-year-old will be keen to add to his goal tally on Sunday. As a boyhood Red and Carrington graduate, he knows just how much this match means to both the fans and the players.
Klopp on Rashford
Klopp lauded the England international ahead of the fixture, saying (via James Pearce): “I am really happy for him. Last year not performing at the level he’s able to perform. Now he’s playing incredible. How calm he is in front of goal. He scores worldies and the simple ones.”
