Early team news for both sides ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Anfield this Sunday, March 4.
For the second and final time this season, the two most successful clubs in England will go head-to-head in a highly-anticipated Premier League clash.
In terms of form, this season has been vastly different for both clubs in comparison to recent years. Heading into the game, United sit in third place and their opponents, sixth.
The Red Devils remain in contention for the final three competitions of the season, having already won the first trophy on offer in the form of the Carabao Cup.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s only focus for the remainder of the campaign is finishing in the top four, unless they are able to overturn a three-goal deficit at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Round of 16 European tie.
United team news
Luke Shaw missed out midweek during the Reds’ FA Cup clash with West Ham and he will be assessed before the weekend.
Jadon Sancho was also ruled out with illness, so it’s possible he could return to the matchday squad as either a starter or substitute.
Anthony Martial remains unavailable.
Liverpool team news
Joe Gomez is sidelined for the match through injury, whilst Naby Keita is a doubt.
Thiago Alcantara and Luis Diaz are still in recovery to full fitness and could return for Sunday’s game.
