Manchester United among Chelsea and Arsenal in race for Southampton teenager

Manchester United are reportedly one of several clubs ‘keeping tabs’ on Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

That is according to Daily Mail, which reported that Chelsea, Arsenal and United are in the race for the 19-year-old.

Erik ten Hag has outlined the Belgian as a potential option to bolster his midfield options, with Jude Bellingham, Frenkie de Jong and Declan Rice also on the list.

Lavia is a product of rivals Manchester City’s academy, though so was Jadon Sancho, and he is now feeling the love as a Red from the Old Trafford faithful.

Lavia’s time at Southampton could factor on depend on survival

The Saints signed the teenager last summer on a five-year deal and with the prospect of relegation looming, they could be forced to part with several wantaways at the end of the season.

His contract will, however, mean that the clubs interested could be forced to pay a hefty fee to prise Lavia from St. Mary’s Stadium.
