Erik ten Hag not distracted by upcoming trip to Liverpool

Erik ten Hag isn’t getting distracted by the upcoming trip to Liverpool.

We have not seen Erik ten Hag get distracted at any stage this season. The past week has been a challenging one, in terms of having three big games in quick succession. Manchester United beat Leicester City in the league to tighten their grip in the top four, before knocking Barcelona out of the Europa League and winning the League Cup against Newcastle at Wembley.

The manager’s approach has been to take each game at a time. Ten Hag wants his team focused on the task at hand because that gives Manchester United the best opportunity in every competition. You need to be in all of the competitions to keep the squad hungry and I think that is going in United’s favour this season.

Ahead of United’s FA Cup clash against West Ham, Ten Hag was asked at his pre-match press conference whether he could get distracted by the upcoming match against Liverpool.

“I think every game is important,” Ten Hag told reporters, as per Manchester Evening News. “Every game until now, the dressing room had the right attitude and approach. You said it’s the biggest game, but is Barcelona not a big game? Game by game.”

For the fans, we’re just taking each game at a time, and enjoying the connection we have with the team again – no matter who it’s against or where the game is being held.

Liverpool away is always one the fans look out for on the calendar. We certainly can’t wait but let’s get the job done against West Ham first.

A run in the FA Cup would be a big bonus this season and I don’t get the impression Ten Hag wants to stop at the League Cup.
