Manchester United striker sets ambitious quadruple target after securing Carabao Cup

Wout Weghorst has set his sights on a historic quadruple, with Manchester United still in contention for the remaining three competitions.

After ending a six-year trophy drought last night, the Red Devils are already in preparation for their next outing; a midweek clash with West Ham United in the FA Cup.

It was confirmed this morning that despite just being crowned Carabao Cup winners, the squad and staff left Wembley by 10 pm and will train today for their forthcoming fixture.

Weghorst started the match and whilst he failed to get on the scoresheet, his contributions across the pitch were invaluable to seeing out a win. He was often in his own box defending, pressing constantly and tested Loris Karius several times, though I think I’d be odds on to net a brace past him.

Weghorst’s post-match admission

Post-match, the Dutchman took a minute to take in the scenes around him. Coming from Burnley to Besiktas, to United is some difference, and to win a trophy in that time will be a feeling he never forgets.

He also spoke to the media following the match and said: “Four trophies? One is done, three left.”  – The exact mentality every Red wants to be hearing from the squad just hours after lifting silverware.
