Manchester United and Newcastle United will meet at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon for the chance to win the 2022-23 EFL Cup.
The Red Devils booked their place in the competition’s final after beating Nottingham Forest 5-0 over two legs with Eddie Howe’s Magpies cruising 3-1 on aggregate past Southampton.
Now set to showdown for the chance to win the season’s first piece of major silverware, Sunday’s final has the potential to propel either side to future success.
For United, they’ve not won a major trophy since 2017 (Europa League and EFL Cup) with Newcastle’s drought dating back to 1955, so both clubs will understandably be desperate to add today’s trophy to their dusty cabinets.

Ahead of the mouth-watering tie, which is set to kick off at 4.30 p.m (UK time), Erik Ten Hag and Howe have named their starting 11s.
Newcastle have gone with a familiar starting lineup and have welcomed midfielder Bruno Guimaraes back following a recent spell out through injury.
United, on the other hand, have been handed a major boost after in-form attacker Marcus Rashford won his fitness race after picking up a knock against Barcelona earlier in the week.
