Martin Tyler tells Jamie Carragher to ‘behave’ after Manchester United referee joke

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was told to ‘behave’ by Martin Tyler after making a silly joke about Manchester United and referees.

Anything to make the headlines before a final that has nothing to do with you, eh, Jamie?

Carragher was sat alongside Tyler in the gantry for last night’s Premier League clash between Fulham and Wolves, with the game being shown live on Sky Sports.

The pair briefly spoke about Sunday’s Carabao Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle.

Tyler suggested Michael Oliver, who was referee last night, could be in attendance at Wembley to cheer on Newcastle.

The veteran commentator went on to stress that Oliver could not referee the final because he is a Newcastle fan, but Carragher hinted some referees have no problem showing their admiration for the Reds.

“Obviously you can’t referee the club you support, so it must’ve been hard for them to find someone for the Carabao Cup final with Manchester United involved,” Carragher said, as per The Mirror.

Tyler was having none of it and told Carragher to ‘behave’.
