Inevitable Kylian Mbappe links surface amid takeover talks

It seems inevitable that if Manchester United are bought later this year, the Red Devils will be linked with every Tom, Dick and Harry in the transfer market.

The predictable stories are already hitting the media.

Apparently Manchester United will ‘consider’ a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe if the Reds find themselves under new ownership, according to Football Insider (H/t Manchester Evening News).

United will be in the market for two forwards at least in the summer, and it remains to be seen if Wout Weghorst will be kept at the end of the season.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are two other names being linked with moves to Old Trafford. Both players would cost north of £100m and there’s no way we’ll be doing a deal like that as well as signing PSG’s biggest asset.

At the moment, Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has confirmed his interest, and he will be competing against Sir Jim Ratcliffe if the Glazers decide to cash in.

It seems unrealistic that we’ll be signing Mbappe anytime soon but that won’t stop certain outlets playing guess work.
