(Pictures) Why Robin van Persie spent the day with Manchester United at Carrington

Manchester United legend Robin van Persie has spent the day at Carrington training base to talk with Erik ten Hag and the players.

Van Persie is remembered at United for playing a pivotal role in securing the club’s 20th Premier League title after making a notorious switch from rivals Arsenal. Outside of Old Trafford though, he is regarded as one of the greatest strikers to ever play the game and his ‘Flying Dutchman’ moment at the 2014 World Cup further etched his name into the football folklore.

Nowadays, the 39-year-old is passing on his tricks of the trade by managing Eredivisie side PSV.

According to David McDonnell of The Mirror, Van Persie is at Carrington today to interview Erik ten Hag for BT Sport. Here’s what he got up to on his return to Manchester:
