US hedge fund offers Glazers opportunity to remain Manchester United owners

More details have emerged from one of the offers that was made to the Raine Group ahead of Friday’s soft deadline.

Up until now, we knew more about the bids from Sheikh Jassim Hamad bin Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe than that from US hedge fund Elliott Management, though we are still lacking a lot of details around the two most prominent candidates.

Elliott’s emergence in the sale process of United came over the weekend, as per The Times, but we are starting to learn more about what they have offered the Glazer family.

According to ESPN, the Glazers have been offered the financial backing to remain as owners of Manchester United.

This move won’t be a popular one move – and will likely see Elliott Management becoming fiercely disliked by Manchester United fans who have spent over 17 years protesting against the American family.

Only time will tell if the Glazers really want to cash in or if they will remain at the club, but this sounds like a plot for the American family if they are unsuccessful finding a successful bidder.

We are seeing so many reports – all coming from different corners, with public statements already made by the Qatari group and INEOS.
