Predicted Manchester United XI vs Leicester City: Martinez returns to defence

Manchester United take on Leicester City on Sunday in the Premier League and will be looking to take all three points to build their momentum across all competitions ahead of a big week for the club.

After taking on the Foxes, United will face Barcelona in the second leg of a Europa League tie just three days before the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

United go into this game on the back of a 2-2 stalemate with Barcelona, and they face a Leicester City showing good form. They are 13th in the Premier League standings after a nightmare start to the campaign under Brendan Rodgers.

Predicted Manchester United line-up vs Leicester City

David de Gea will play between the sticks, as per usual, while Lisandro Martinez will return to the defence to partner Raphael Varane. I reckon we’ll see Diogo Dalot get a start at right back and Luke Shaw will return to his preferred left-back role.

United will be without Casemiro as he misses his final game from a 3-game ban in domestic competition. At least he will be back for the for the other two big games next week. For this season, I think we’ll see Marcel Sabitzer and Fred play behind Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Up front, Wout Weghorst will lead the attack unless there’s any late fitness update on Anthony Martial. He will be joined on either flank by Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, Fred, Fernandes; Sancho, Weghorst, Rashford.
