Manchester United women’s players against Mason Greenwood’s potential return

It is believed the Manchester United women’s players do not want Mason Greenwood to return to the club after having all criminal charges made against him dropped, while the men’s squad is split over a potential recall.

Mason Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault in January 2022. He denied those charges and they were dropped last week after a long investigation involving the CPS.

According to The Times, some members of Manchester United’s women’s team have serious concerns about the possibility of Mason Greenwood returning to first-team training.

Both squads don’t expect Greenwood to be recalled – but we don’t know how many players this report has been based on, though it doesn’t change the fact this is a horrible conversation to have having around our football club – due to the evidence that was leaked across social media over a year ago.

Some members of the men’s team would have no objection to Greenwood coming back given that he has not been found guilty of anything. At the same time, he has not been found innocent.

A similar article appeared on The Athletic last week – getting insight from female Manchester United fans on the subject.

  1. Provide the names of those Man United women that have a problem with Mason returning. And then provide the names of those Man United women who were equally disturbed with Ronaldo’s return to United.

    1. Rick, why are you taking issue with women who have a problem with Greenwood’s potential recall, and not the men, since the first-team is reportedly split over a decision? Strange one but have a good day…

      1. Because it’s selective. Less you forget, Ronaldo was accused of raping an American woman in Las Vegas and admitted to the fact that she said no multiple times.
United chased Ronaldo to sign him 2 years ago and I don’t remember United women having any public problems with it. The hypocrisy is nauseating.

  2. It’s the media that’s dividing the fans, if Mason was guilty he shud hv been incarcerated. Period. Wat the female footballers think it’s their child. The fans will abuse him but it will be over.

  3. Greenwood has been at the club since 2007 playing at all levels, case was dropped !
The club must access all legal channels before finalising any decision.
Manchester United women team formed 2018, a separate department from the men’s team.
