Manchester United and Crystal Palace charged by FA after Premier League confrontation

Both Manchester United and Crystal Palace have been charged by the FA for failing to conduct their players and/or refrain from provocative behaviour.

The incident came in the 67th minute of Saturday’s game at Old Trafford after Antony was fouled by Jeffrey Schlupp, who pushed the winger off the pitch and into the advertising boards.

The challenge then sparked a furious reaction from Antony’s teammates as they came straight onto the scene to interrogate the Palace players. Things soon got heated between both sets of players, though United caught the worse end of the deal in the end, with Casemiro ultimately receiving a red card for violent conduct on Will Hughes.

Casemiro is now serving a three-match suspension

United and Palace face FA charge

Erik ten Hag and Patrick Vieira could only watch from the sidelines on the opposite side of where the altercation occurred, but now consequently face the charge that was confirmed today via an FA spokesperson. The clubs have until Monday, February 13 to respond.
